Silliest Shoes Ever: Game Boy Color Shoes

I've seen ridiculous Nintendo shoes before, like this NES console shoe that allegedly plays games, but these platform-clog thingies take the cake in silliness, style and uselessness. The shoes are from Nintendo’s 2001 Style Campaign (obviously, because they're sooooo 2001) and are designed by Helen Red Richards, a shoemaker who specializes in custom orthopedic shoes (um, these shoes don't look orthopedic -- at all). Oh, and they cost $2,000 a pair. As I always think with electronically-enhanced foot coverings: What do you do when it rains?

(To see my custom, homemade Nintendo DS Lite sneaker, make the jump. It was way cheaper than two grand.)

(Yes, I'm silly. Sorry, I'm clearly bored today.)

Haha I like the second shoe better. Ít is so IN right now.
