The Story Behind Those New Katamari Shirts
You might have seen Tiny's post about those shiny new (and quite official) Katamari Damacy shirts brought to you by Panic. As I write this, they must be getting purchased by the barrelful, because the server has been down for the last couple hours and may still be by the time you read this.
So if you can't get your hands on one of these fuzzy flocked or foiled shirts just yet, maybe you have a moment to ask yourself... just how did Panic, a mac oriented company, become the sole official retailer for Katamari Damacy products? You're in luck, because one of my favorite bloggers, cabel.name, just so happens to be the designer of said shirts!
Read his latest entry into Japandom for some backstory on how Panic came to be the only company to get a license to sell Katamari goods as well as some insight into the personality of Keita Takahashi (the creator of Katamari, although you probably already knew that). Further reading reveals how the unique design for the shirts came about and the process with which they were made, and of course, a look into the wonderful world of Japanese retail via a store called Yodobashi Camera.
Don't miss a look at Cabel himself modeling one of the new shirts! I always was curious if he really did wear a beanie all the time...

Oh my. I think I just ordered the shiniest shirt in the universe. AND the fuzziest.
