Wii-kly Update: March 26, 2007
Koei and Nintendo bring some Romance to the Virtual Console, today. Romance of the Three Kingdoms IV (SNES) goes online and I just might get it. I used to borrow this from a friend all the time. Diplomacy was my method of choice, but sometimes I just felt like taking some territory, and so I did...for a united China (I wonder how well Warlord, I mean President Bush would do on it?)! It has been at least 10 years since I last played and I wonder if it will be as good as I remember it? Possibly, I guess I'll find out. ...but I absolutely love these types of games and none have done it better, in my opinion, than the Koei's Romance series. It should be on a Wii Shopping Channel near you for 800 Wii Points! For more information and the press release, make the jump.
Any of you out there like this game, too?

Wii-kly Update: New Classic Game Announced for Wii Shop Channel
Today Nintendo adds a classic Super NES(R) game to the popular Wii(TM)
video game system's Wii Shop Channel. The game goes live at 9 a.m. Pacific
time. Nintendo adds new games to the channel every Monday. Wii owners with a
high-speed Internet connection can redeem Wii Points(TM) to download the
games. Wii Points can be purchased in the Wii Shop Channel or at retail
outlets. This week's new game is:
Romance of the Three Kingdoms IV: Wall of Fire(TM) (Super NES, 1-8
players, 800 Wii Points): Romance of the Three Kingdoms IV is a tactical
simulation game in which the player takes the role of a ruler seeking to unite
China in the era of the three kingdoms of Wei, Wu and Shu. The role of the
ruler is to command a range of officers with differing characteristics - some
cunning strategists, others brave warriors - and strengthen the military might
of his or her kingdom. Foreign policy, involving forming alliances with
certain kingdoms and hatching plans to weaken others, will play a major role
in this process. Once players have developed a powerful enough military, it
will be time to expand their borders through military conquest. Ultimate
victory will only be achieved once all 43 cities in China lie within a
player's control.

I love the PSX version. They actually use real-life footage as cutscenes.
That's the only VC game this week? They are getting lazy...
Anyone else playing Chew Man Fu? It has to be the best undiscovered gem on the VC. Well wroth the $6. Go check it out.
Never, never, NEVER have I been able to finish a complete ROTK game! After several attempts too! Including this game and ROTK X for PS2 but I really hope to do it with some help.
