20GB PS3: RIP

Like the uncomfortably insufficient Rosemary Kennedy of the Sony clan, the 20GB PS3 seems to have been quietly lobotomized and is looking forward to spending the rest of its days staring at rows of cypress trees through reinforced glass windows while a thin line of drool runs into its spilly-cup.
That is to say, it looks as though the littlest line of the biggest, newest console is officially dead. It has ceased to be. At least, it's been dropped from SonyStyle, the company's official retail store. This following a prolonged absence of the 20GB model from the store, as well as from Best Buy.
Near the Ides of March, Sony said it was still manufacturing the 20GB model, but one imagines that production has either been greatly attenuated or stilled altogether. Were consumers turned off by the lack of Wi-Fi connectivity or flash card readers, or were they just more attracted tot he 60GB version? For my money's worth, a console with as steep a price as the PS3 wouldn't seem to be worth downgrading to the 20GB version - you're still shelling out a lot of dough.
Maybe that explains this silent funeral for the 20GB PS3 - if you're gonna go big, why not go whole hog?

The 20GB model was ridiculous anyway. It was like having an Elite 360 with less storage. D'oh!
Except the 360 Elite actually has games you want to play.. oh SNAP!
Wow... harsh (if clever) analogy there TD.
Poor Rose always makes me cry when I've had enough beers and psychology becomes a topic of bar conversation.
Touche, Jake.... touche.
