GameStop Ups Xbox Trade-In Value

Kotaku's all-around-nice-guy (and fellow round-head) Michael Fahey drops some good news for any Xbox 360 owners who've suddenly got a case of Elite envy. Whether or not you'll go back once you go black is not a question I'm prepared to answer, but GameStop and EBGames seem eager to help you find out for yourselves: they've upped the trade-in credit for all Xboxes, be they original, core or premium.
Returning an original Xbox (which, if you ask me, counts as 'going back,' but that's neither here nor there) will net you $50; an Xbox 360 core system will earn $200; premium 360s are worth a cool $250. This is trade-in credit, of course, so you can't go spending it on boys and drinks - unless your local GameStop is a helluva lot more fun than mine.
If you want the green, or if you don't want to give GameStop any more reason to have their freaky robot phone lady call you up and ask you personal questions, there's always eBay.

I am going to spend a ten spot on the "Woody" faceplate and then be content with my Xbox 360. I plan on using the MP4 playback to watch ripped MP4 movies off my iPod on my 360 so I really don't NEED a 360 Elite.
I mean it is cheaper to buy a new larger hard drive and move your content over then to sell your old Xbox 360 and get an Elite. I mean I could see if they redesigned the motherboard and used cooler chips, a quieter fan, built in HD-DVD but I am quite happy to stick with my white and chrome 360 "Premium".
