Age Of Conan Beta Smash

It seems that gamers are hot for Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures. Over this past Easter weekend, more than 100,000 people signed up for the Beta test. Within the first 24 hours of the sign-up process, over 50,000 people registered.
Funcom seems to be sitting pretty with this much interest in the game. CEO of Funcom Trond Arne Aas, had this to say about the public response:
We're naturally very pleased to see that so many dedicated gamers are signing up for the `Age of Conan` Beta at such a rapid pace. With more than 100,000 gamers signed up in such a short time-frame our confidence in the game's potential and its ability to be a major contender in the MMO genre continues to be strengthened.
The Beta sign-process is pretty involved. Gamers must submit personal information along with detailed technical information about their computer. The process was devised to make sure the applicants were serious about testing. Funcom is still accepting applications for the Beta, so head on over to the site and get your place in line for the opportunity to play it first. There are only so many testing spots available now, but as the development continues, they will open up testing positions to more applicants.
