DANCE! Online: Black Is An Extra Feature

Acclaim’s new dancing, microtransaction-laden, MMO DANCE! Online, has a startling statement for new users to the game. The default character is white, and you have to pay to create a black character. One user asked a “player moderator”,
“I gotta pay to be black?”
The moderator confirmed,
“Black is an EXTRA feature. It makes your person look unique, so that is an EXTRA feature. Therefore, you having to PAY for it. (Or ask a friend to pay for it).”
Afterwards, to soften the blow, an Acclaim employee explained a little further,
“As an optional character upgrade, we must put this in the item shop for players to acquire. This is the only way to offer the African-American heads. However, it should be EASILY accessible to all, so we made it just 1 POINT in the shop (which is basically for FREE). You don’t have to spend any money to get it, just play the game and earn points. Thanks!”
It doesn’t take very long to earn one point in the game, so you don’t have to play as a white character for long. Acclaim should know that if you have an MMO, regardless if it is free or not, there are many users out there who come in a variety of shades. MMOs are comprised of real people, who represent part of themselves by their character creation. As a minimum requirement, every player must be able to represent their persona by their skin tone from the start. It doesn’t matter if unlocking a skin tone is cheap, it must be included.

Oh my goodness, this is ridiculous. There's nothing like this in Audition Online.
how many points to play as Don Imus?
Wow...what were they thinking?
They should have made the beginning character gray and featureless...a bland manikin-type thing. Then, they could offer lots of different features and ethnicities, each costing 1 point.
I demand white people pay to be white
This is wrong on many levels. I mean...it is staggeringly wrong, the fact you have to "earn" to be black, the fact that it is not just a given at the start it...oh man they are gonna get in crap for this.
Here's a tidbit about the game I read in the comments at the provided link:
"In-game, there is a built-in marriage system for characters. However, the system intentionally excludes same-sex couples."
Who knew the "dancing community" was so racist AND homophobic?
LOL motordog- yeah that dancing community are a real bunch of rednecks
Rhythm +1?
