BlizzCon 2007 Announced

If you were like me and missed Blizzcon in 2005, around October or November of last year you probably started wondering, "Hey, aren't they going to do another one of those?" The answer I got when I asked around was that Blizzcon was going to be a "we'll do it when we feel like it" style convention. Well, today, it looks like the folks over at Blizzard got the urge to have a party (and with the annual income of a small country, you can bet it's gonna be some party)!
Today, Blizzard announced that BlizzCon will once again open its doors on August 3, 2007.Highlights for this year's BlizzCon will include:
* Discussion panels with Blizzard game developers;
* Competitive and casual tournaments, including a World of Warcraft TCG tournament;
* Costume, machinima, and character sound-alike contests with great prizes;
* Live orchestral performances of music from Blizzard games;
* And many more exciting activities to be announced soon at www.blizzcon.com!
You can check out the full announcement press release on Blizzard's site, along with a Blizzcon FAQ. Weird that Blizzard announces a big show—a show that I believe saw the announcement of Burning Crusade last time it rolled around—and today we start hearing rumors about a new StarCraft game. Coicidence?
The only question I have, and that's obviously missing from their Blizzcon FAQ: Is there going to be a super limited gift for attendees that will quickly appreciate in value enough to fund my travel expenses several times over? You know... like last time.

I wonder what free pet they're going to be giving Americans this time.
But hey, at least they gave Europeans a pet with the BC expan... Oooooh right.
Yeah. I'm so going this time.
