Wii Takes Three More VC Titles To The Streets Of Europe

Nintendo brings three more games to Europe via the Wii Virtual Console. This weekend, you folks get to beat the ever living merde out of enemy sprites. First up is Final Fight (SNES - 800 points), which is based in the Street Fighter universe (that, I'm ashamed to say, I did not know until now). However, I do know that it was a fun game back in the day. The next title comes from the NES era, Mighty Bomb Jack (500 points). You'll also be getting a big hot load of Battle Lode Runner (600 points) from the Turbografx-16. Sounds awfully violent. Be sure to keep some bandaids and anti-Jack Thompson spray around! Before I go, I am a bit curious about Mighty Bomb Jack, has anyone out there actually this? I've not ever heard of it before today.

Virtual Console Takes To The Streets With A Selection Of Top Action Titles
27th April 2007 – This week Virtual Console allows you to take on the street thugs of Metro City. Based in the same universe as the Street Fighter games, Final Fight is a much loved side-scrolling beat-em up, originally released on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Following the exploits of the Mayor of Metro City, as he takes the law into his own hands to rescue his kidnapped daughter, Final Fight features all the elements of a great fighting title, including sinister bosses to devastating special attacks. Final Fight smashes its way onto the Virtual Console for 800 Wii Points.
Next up among this week’s retro offerings is 1992 action title Mighty Bomb Jack™, originally available on the Nintendo Entertainment System. When the entire royal family is kidnapped and imprisoned within a pyramid by evil demon Belzebut, it is up to Jack to use his powers and set them free. With sixteen levels full of nasty enemies and perilous traps to overcome, Mighty Bomb Jack will keep even the most seasoned gamer perched on the edge of their seat for hours on end. Mighty Bomb Jack is available to own now for 500 Wii Points.
Rounding off this week’s offering is Turbografx title Battle Lode Runner®. This classic game features both a ‘Puzzle Mode’, where players must collect gold bars while avoiding enemies and a ‘Battle Mode’, which can be played by up to five players. With the addition of a level editor, Battle Lode Runner is available for 600 Wii Points.
These great games will join the list of 78 classic titles already available for the Virtual Console in Europe.

Bomb Jack is more or less a J'n'R Pacman clone. You run around a level collecting bombs. Nothing fancy or new, I'm afraid.
And I still don't have a Wii, but after playing Wario Ware with some friends tonight and also noticing she downloaded Kirby's Adventure for the NES, I don't think I can hold out much longer...
Basically you run and jump through various rooms in a pyramid to try and make it to the top, collecting bombs along the way for points and various powerups that I'm not sure of what they do. Uber-nasty; one-hit kills, no password system, a game worthy of the title "Nintendo-hard".
Timsy, a bit of an unique platform game. You can usually jump up about 7/8ths of the field and the typical touch anything bad and die. If you want to check it out before you download, I'd recommend

It was a fun arcade game, so I'm looking forward to trying the NES version if it ever shows up on the American VC.
