Final Fantasy I & II Remakes Come To The PSP

Square-Enix sure knows how to keep Final Fantasy fandom alive in their 20th anniversary year of Final Fantasy. They have been inundating their fan base with remake after remake to polish up their legacy for modern consoles. Now Squeenix is dusting off their first two entries in the Final Fantasy oeuvre for the Playstation Portable. Both games feature some fabulous new character artwork, beautifully updated graphics, new dungeons, full 16:9 widescreen presentation and an updated camera view.
Final Fantasy I & II set the blueprints for most turn-based console RPGs that followed. The first Final Fantasy was the first RPG I ever played. It was captivating at the time. The Legend of Zelda felt like a huge game, but Final Fantasy was monstrous. I ground through those dungeons for endless hours, with my map in hand, happy as can be.
Expect Final Fantasy I to hit on June 26th and Final Fantasy II on July 24th. That’s just the beginning, there is still Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy Tactics: The Lion War coming to the PSP later this year. I can’t even imagine how many hours these games would take to complete together. As the astute Kelly Bundy once said, “The mind wobbles.”

Wait, they're releasing the games separately? Unless they're half the price of a normal PSP game, this is a huge rip-off. And I'm an FF fan. FFI and FFII have been re-released as a single game on PSOne and the GBA. What warrants buying them separately?
When will people realize that FFI&II are BAD games?
"Updated graphics?" Last time I checked the sprites still walked with only two friggin frames!
... I am curious about the new artwork, though.
I'll be picking up FFI for $30 when it drops in June. I was never a big fan of FFII so I'll just skip that.
I haven't played FFI since my original outing with it on the NES so having beautiful high resolution sprites is gonna be a great gift.
I think Square should start putting these out in half carts. You know, like final fantasy I part 1 and part 2, in seperate cartridges just to see how much money they can milk out of people.
I think this continues to show that Sony thinks everyone is as rich as they are by keeping their consoles as the more expensive alternative (but that won't probably last much longer if they fall too hard and don't recover the PS3 soon enough).
