Final Fantasy Tactics A2 Media For Your Viewing Pleasure

I have to admit, I wasn't a huge fan of FF Tactics Advance. Although the graphics were fine, I found the story lacking (I always hate it when characters are whisked away to some other world and then realize that they have to go home after they learn some valuable lessons about life) and the gameplay a little too simple and uninteresting. Passing the game was a breeze while finishing all the sidequests: tedious and boring. So it is with some trepidation that I look at FFTA2, which is coming out on the DS some time in the foreseeable future.

A lot of the elements from FFTA appear to be in place. Although there is no sign of Judges, it appears to take place in Ivalice as there are viera, moogles and summons in the Ivalician style. Many of the job classes seem to be the same from FFTA and based on the collection of screenshots found here, it also looks like the game will start out in a modern day "regular" world before a magic book hits the main character with some much needed adventure.

It definitely looks pretty, if not a little too similar to FFTA. We'll just have to wait and see if this is a much needed boost for the franchise.

Er, which franchise needs boosting? The canonical Final Fantasy series which continues to sell more and more titles with each console iteration, or the Tactics spin-off series, which continues to sell more and more titles with each iteration?

"Boost"? FFTA didn't tank and it was even praised for it's simpler (read: non political) story. The fight between FFT and FFTA fans is something fierce though.

Made me ROFLMAO!! Because that's like my favorite type of genre. Neverending Story, Fushigi Yugi, Magic Knight Rayearth, Wizard of Oz and Chronicles of Narnia are like my top favorite stories.

So I guess that's why I didn't see any problem with FFTA story even if many people couldn't stand it.

I've never liked FFTA. It just feels like an all around more craptastic version of FFT and everything about it was a turn-off. The art style changed drastically, for the worst I thought and the game became A LOT simpler than the original.

I'm also very irritated that even with the greater power the DS offers, it still looks like a GBA game.

I think they messed up and linked images from the original FFTA instead of FFTA2. Oh wait...
