Glitch In New SVC Vs. Capcom Game

snkvscapcomds.jpg

I never really got into the trading card versions of the SNK vs. Capcom franchise, mainly because card-battle games get boring for me quickly. However, word's surfaced that there's a serious problem in the recently-released SVC: Card Fighters DS that looks like it's going to be a major embarrassment for the publisher:

"It appears that when playing a New Game+, talking to a character named Card Battler John on the 9th floor of the Card Tower will cause the game to freeze. This is a very significant glitch, since talking to him is required to proceed to the next floor, and completion of the New Game+ is required to see the true ending of the game, and also to collect most of the A and S rank cards in the game. This glitch seems to affect all copies of the game."

Well, hell. That is a problem. Just a bit. I have no idea how they're going to fix this, but hopefully SNK Playmore won't leave their customers out to dry.

Sadly, I got the game before I heard about this. Hopefully they'll do something about this. I want the Phoenix Wright cards.

Since its a cartridge, there's nothing that can be done except for a recall. That means everyone will lose saved data, probably. Though, since the cartridges are basically SD flash memory, it MIGHT be possible to update them via the Wi Fi network. Not sure how that might work.

Haven't thought about that, but yeah. wi-Fi update would be possible, since you can save the data on the card.
I hope they think of that, too O.o

siiigghhhhh yeah... =[ I was one of the fans of the original NeoGeo Pocket Card Fighters game and was really excited about the DS incarnation! But the game has really really fallen short of the original in all aspects... this glitch news is just icing on the cake so to speak... well icing on a bad cake ='[

Oh also the game is not WiFi compatible (for some strange bizarre reason) so probably they'll just physically recall and resend copies of the game.

JigSaw said:

Or they'll do nothing. Which is actually the most likely -_-''

They'll probably recall it. I think if nothing else, Nintendo requires publishers to recall games if there's a bug serious enough to prevent access to a large portion of the game. Same thing happened with Bubble Bobble Revolution.

I was going to buy this today actually, but I couldn't find it. Good thing.

It'd be cool if someone posted a follow-up if they confirm there'll be a recall or not!

This better not happen with the Marvel Trading Card Game on DS when it comes out.
