Grown-Up Evil To Reside On Wii

Hi there and hello, gamers! It's good to be back from TinyCon 2007, where attendance hit a record - somewhere in the very low teens. And to what do I return, but news that the Wii will be receiving a big splattered mess of adulthood all across its family-friendly face. Resident Evil 4 will be dragging its T-virus-infected zombie feet onto the Wii. At least in Japan. From Kikizo:
Players will be able to shoot, reload and slice using the Wii remote. The game, which is out in Japan at the end of May, will also include the extra content originally added for 2005's PlayStation 2 version.
And there's more. Joining Resident Evil 4 on the Wii is another game called Biohazard: Umbrella Chronicles. (Resident Evil is known as Biohazard in Japan.) Reminiscent of previous light-gun Resident Evil games, this is reportedly a first-person on-rails arcade-style shooter where players blast zombies away while being moved from room to room. The game stars original Resident Evil characters Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine.
RE4 plus bonus content? I'm curious to see how the wiimote handles that...it could be very frustrating, right? Or, it could be creepy-perfect. Any guesses?

uh oh, I got a flashback "Resident Evil - Directors Cut." ... and I still bought it. So it can't be that bad.
Personally, I think it will be pretty sweet. I haven't played Re4 yet (I haven't even gotten to RE3 yet!), but a Wii version should make pixel perfect shooting *easier* in my mind. Move with the nunchuck, shoot with the Wiimote? The only thing I worry about is strafing, but overall I only see this as a good thing.
I wonder if they'll up the graphics as well. Hm.
SWEET! ...and I was thinking about grabbing this for the GC, now I can wait!
Are people insane?
Its the same Gamecube game released over 2 years ago, now with added Wiimote controls..
I am SO glad I'm selling my Wii... THESE are the mature games we're supposed to get?
I'll pass
T.
Awww...I was hoping for sandbox-esque third person shooter. Those are the only great, mature titles.
BOOOOOOOOO. How about making NEW games instead of just cashing in on your old games people already have by adding gimmicks. But then again this IS Capcom we are talking about and obviously you can't change bad habits, even thou their recent success is closely tied to their focus on innovation.
Be on the look-out for the new Resident Evil 1 Re-Remake exclusively for the PS3. And Super Resident Evil 4 MAXX#Reload only for XBOX 360.
jay...
Well, if you're going to do a remake, it may as well be a remake of one of the best games available on the previous system...
It'd be a great idea--
But c'mon, why wasn't this a launch title for Wii? Timing is of the essence, and as of now? I've beaten RE4 5 times-- three times on GCN, and twice more on the PS2.
Capcom... make that rail shooter good. Ya got Raving Rabbids to beat--
and those bunnies were hilarious.
So I have to buy a THIRD version of this damn game? Grah!!
I only hope that this one is as pretty as the GC version, but offers true widescreen like the PS2 counterpart.
