Parappa The Rapper Slams Onto The PSP
The game that introduced North America to the music rhythm genre 10 years ago is now coming to PSP in July. That’s right our favorite rapping dog, Parappa The Rapper is being ported to PlayStation Portable from it’s PlayStation roots. The upcoming title will be an updated version of the original, supporting four-player wireless play and the ability to download eight more remixes of the original songs.
We haven’t seen a Parappa game since the PS2 version came out in 2002. I’m glad that SCEA is going back to this much beloved franchise. I don’t think anyone can deny the charm of the original title. With the additional features, the game should be fresh enough for any fan of the original to enjoy once again. Now is the chance for the younger players, who didn’t get a chance to play the original, to enjoy what many others consider one of the greatest rhythm games ever created.
I’ve been thinking of tracking down the original for some time, now I’ll just wait for the PSP version to get caught up with the infectious rhymes and glorious presentation of the game. Actually, I’m really looking forward to playing the driving portion of the game with Instructor Mooselini’s rapping instructions. "When I say boom boom boom, you say bam bam bam, don’t pause in between, c’mon let’s jam."
For those of you who loved the art style of the game, here is Rodney Alan Greenblat’s website, who illustrated Parappa The Rapper. Check it out, he has some great work.

Wow...was it really 10 years ago? That's crazy.
Whoa, nostalgia! I have *fond* memories of the stupid cooking level!
It took me far too many tries to get past the stupid chicken.
Maybe if she didn't sound so hilarious trying to 'rap' it might've been easier :D.
Can we have a new UmJammer Lammy game? She's way cooler than Parappa.

Man Andydrew, you make me feel old... Good memories that game! I'm glad it'll be back in the market! Hopefully they'll make UmJammer Lammy soon!
I never stopped playing Parappa, it's always been one of my very fave games for PSX or PS2. But REMIXES!? Bring 'em! :D
I agree with Zodiac. I enjoyed Lammy's mishaps a lot more that Parappa's and I wish they would have done more with Milkcan. They essentially were set up to go in the other three directions already.
Holy cow it's really been that long D: I feel kinda old now lol. Anyways, I'm really excited they are going to release this in the US, since i've been seriously considering importing the JP version after hearing it came out over there a couple months ago. Another really nice one they released to the PSP was "Guitaroo Man". I really enjoyed the PS2 version. Now I wanna see "Bust-A-Groove" come to the PSP in a remake! That would be awesome.
