Peter Molyneux: A Knight's Tale

PeterMolyneuxCheck.jpg

Hear ye, hear ye, royal subjects, for I have an announcement. Since dawn we have been ringing all of the bells of the Castle to herald the newly dubbed Knight Peter Molyneux. Sir Molyneux was granted the Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, or The Knighthood in the Order of Arts by the French minister of culture Renaud Donnedieu.

Please make sure to stay clear of the construction area on the Castle grounds. We are erecting a Molyneux statue in our royal statuarium to join his bronzed brethren in eternal glory. Also note there is a viewing deck with complimentary opera glasses for the construction site, since we gathered the finest metal workers from our neighboring realms. Watch as they pound out hot metal all… day… long. Hmmm….

Anywho, Molyneux was very pleased with his new title:

“…I see this as a credit for everyone at Lionhead Studios, all our games are a team effort. I am just the figurehead. It is fantastic to see video games honored in this way.”

We have been watching Molyneux’s progress as a game developer for many years. I still fondly remember playing Populous for hours on end on the Sega Genesis, when I was a kid. He has been a visionary who always tried to bring something new and fresh to the world of gaming. Minister Renaud Donndieu agreed by calling a Molyneux a visionary, “who shows for every creation of his own how video games have their place in this stateroom."

Congratulations Sir Molyneux there will be a banquet in the Napoleon room from dusk ‘till the wee hours of the morning, in your honor.

Now if only his games came even remotely close to his vision instead of coming out half-baked, we might actually have something there.

For shame. The man was knighted for his contributions to gaming. Even if he lets off a lot of steam with unmet promises, he is still a visionary in this field.

is this the same title they gave Miyamoto about a year ago? genuinely can't remember offhand. Also yeah Molyneaux Talk > Molyneaux Games.
