Prince Of Persia Gets A Hollywood Makover
It’s official, Jerry Bruckheimer has nabbed a director the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time. Not just any director, mind you, Mr. Michael Bay. Why am I not surprised in the least bit? Bruckheimer produced a few of Bay’s films in the past. After Bay is finished with Transformers, he should start filming the production for Disney Pictures.
Fortunately, PoP series creator Jordan Mechner wrote the first screenplay for the movie. At least they are trying to get some influence from the gaming industry. Bruckheimer brought in Jeffrey Nachmanoff for the subsequent revisions of the script. Nachamnoff also wrote the frigid apocalyptic nightmare The Day After Tomorrow.
Mechner wants to take the best parts of the first game, and expand them to a new film experience, similar to what they did with Pirates of the Carribean. At least the movie has some great source material, with two sequels to work from. Prince of Persia: Sands of Time is a landmark platformer that ushered in a new freedom of control and level design. If they can capture the nimble acrobatics of the Prince appropriately, the movie should be a thrill ride. That's if the script doesn't suck ass. Expect to see the movie in theaters for Summer 2009.

Just as long as the prince is A) hot, B) agile, and C) shirtless throughout half the movie, I'll be as sound as a pound. Yeah baby, yeah!
Day after tomorrow isn't really a good credit. Sure, it looked nice. But it was so scientificaly inaccurate and completely illogical.
But I agree with MuddBstrd. Give us a hot, agile and shirtless prince and it'll be insta-win.
Blarg. First Michael Bay ruins Transformers and now Prince of Persia.
Honestly, I can't decide if he or Uwe Boll is the worse director...
