Check out this mildly humorous and mildly offensive TV commercial for the PSP in their latest "Touch It" ad campaign. Humorous for all the obvious reasons, and irksome for the same. Of course the young, sexy guy is the one with the PSP, and the joke as a whole is pretty daring and risky for a nation of young guys that get squeamish at even the idea of anything remotely homoerotic. There's no need to set it up all porny with TWO sexy guys, but couldn't the "peeker" have been a little less chickenhawky and pathetic? It's just not believable that someone over the age of 21 would be into that sort of thing!! I guess that's the message: if you're an older business man and in a suit, "handheld gaming" in the bathroom is NOT for you.
Then again, the young guy did sidle up in the urinal directly adjacent and start diddling right in front of him. If that's not a sign for a little George Michael-ing, I don't know what is.

Okay, I know it's annoying when people accuse Sony of ripping off Nintendo, but "Touch it"?! Could they try to differentiate the marketing for their portable a bit more please.
I would be more offended, but since the kid is so retarded as to have urinated on himself while playing Burnout, he hardly comes across as the "hero".
A mildly funny commercial, at least.

And what exactly is the message here?
I should get a PSP cause it will make me pee my pants? Mmmm. Watersports...
I should get a PSP cause scary trolls in bathrooms will hit on me? Mmmmm. Trolls...

Yeah, I would agree with this. At the end of the commercial, I was kind of disgusted that he would pee on himself to play the PSP at a urinal. What, exactly, is that saying? It's not the best ad, in my opinion, and sure doesn't make me want to run out and buy a PSP. If I want action in the bathroom, I don't need a PSP to do it, LOL!

omg, i never even noticed that he had peed all over himself!!! ew.
I really liked the little ad a lot. But then how is this supoosed to actually SELL PSP's? It doesn't make the product that more appealling.

The ad wouldn't make sense without him peeing his pants, though. If he didn't, he'd just be some wierdo playing PSP in the bathroom for no apparent reason. Oh wait...

That was actually a pretty bad commercial.
I meant in the PSP commercial Mr. Pirate Prince. :3
It was kind of funny. Why is it offensive? I found it pretty true-to-life.
This is just like the Nintendo DS adverts in the UK.
What's so funny about this commercial? Happens to me all the time - got to beat them off with a stick...
/hehe
