Uwe Boll, You've Done It Again. This Time It's Personal

In Uwe’s new monsterpiece adaptation of the game Postal, he has included a rather unsavory 9/11 joke that hits a little too close to home, and the camera. Boll has touted his movie by claiming that it is his most controversial film to date. Like they say the proof is in the pudding, or the trailer that is. The scene begins with a window washer going about his business on the outside of a building as the camera is positioned on the inside. On the left side of the scene, sits one of the twin towers. I think you can see where this is going. On the right side, an out of control aircraft comes crashing into the scene, right into the camera, as flames engulf the shot.
Uwe, Uwe, Uwe, I hang my head in shame. What are we going to do with you? You try time and time again to disappoint your audiences, and you succeed admirably. Your failure really is your success. Now though I’m almost speechless. Almost, but not really.
Tasteless. Truly tasteless. Now there’s bad taste and there’s no taste. The illustrious John Waters has built his career on exalting bad taste to the highest extreme, thus creating something magical and unique. He exploited every single taboo he could possibly think of and then some. A true artist. Boll, on the other hand, has taken a tragic situation and created something without artistic merit. What is his statement? What was he trying to prove with this scene? Not much of anything, and to top it off, it’s not funny. It’s alarming, I give him that, but not funny. C’mon Boll grow a pair, get your ass in film school, and give us all a break.

Controversy cannot exist without one key ingredient: Substance.
...something that both this clip and Mr. Boll desperately lack.
How, exactly, does this guy keep getting backing for movies? Don't all his movies lose money? Who would want to put money into something like this? Normally, I'm way to apathetic and lazy to but energy into a boycott, but I'd be willing to boycott anyone connected with this.
That is just not classy. I mean...usually I don't care about controversial movies and such, but that is just tasteless and shallow. Someone needs to stop him from going near movie cameras anymore.
Amazingly tasteless! I am surprised an effects house would even accept a job to create the scene.
And don't even get me started on Uwe himself. His films always seem to lose money and yet other filmmakers are having a hard time getting backing. Wow...
IMDBPro doesn't list any FX companies, so my guess is that the movie just hired some freelance CG guys rather than an actual house. Hard to imagine any company would want that on its reel.
Saw the "teaser."
So, um, the WTC and "Paradise" are connected how?
I don't remember any flying in "Postal."
Did I miss something?
Basically - What does this have to do with anything?
Ooh I know, maybe Jack Thompson is funding this to prove how "dangerous" video games are.
mattymatt: thanks for checking. I wouldn;t want that on my reel either.
Good graphics... poor content.
Holy God, there are no words. I was willing to enjoy this guy's craptacular movies because they were amusing in their awfulness. But that was just offensive. Period. He needs to do that boxing thing again so I can knock some sense into him. Actually, I can think of quite a few of my neighbors here in NYC who would like to do the same thing after seeing that tasteless display.
Okay, I was wrong. There ARE words.
I think this movie is trying to make a joke out of the situation, and i just dont think now is a good time to play around like that.
He's trying too hard.
Anyway, this is going into direct to video hell.
He is funded by people who just want huge tax-breaks. Through a loophole in german law, Boll can fully utilize every cent lost on movies. It's basically us taxpayers, who pay for these atrocities...
I want to watch the trailer, but since it's Uwe Boll, I'll just imagine two hours of 3d violence nonsense.
Of course it's funny! Didn't you hear the hilarious Funniest Home Videos-style "crashing aeroplane" sound effects? That Uwe, what a genius!
/deep sarcasm
Uwe proves himself completely mentally incompetent with every movie he puts out-- I hardly think we can try him as an adult or even as a human. Him failing to be cognizant of the post-disaster burn, our sensitivity, makes this Postal movie something that I hope will be as consistently offensive as it looks it could be.
Definitely renting this one when it's released-- because just as much as it blows my mind that he could be this stupid, I know that such stupidity will produce a train-wreck type of movie that will inevitably intrigue our most morbid curiosities:
We all know how hard it is to look away from train wrecks.
hmmmm i don't even see how that was funny... even when i try to look past the fact that it was very tasteless.
that was just horrible, i mean, the postal game, despite being offensive was at least funny. this guy made it offensive and there was no humor in there whatsoever. plus, what the hell does the WTC have anything to do with paradise? this pisses me off
By renting this movie you will still be indirectly supporting Uwe Boll. I suggest an alternative, free method of viewing this film ;)
okay i get it now... still not funny... the paradise is where those guys who hijacked the plane and all that were told they were going after they died from doing this... so who knows what will be in the next part of that but still i don't think making fun of 9-11 is cool... if thats the case and its about making fun of the terrorists after they died then they should of just showed some other act... a fictinal terrorists act or something... but no Ume has to be so fuckin' litteral with everything he does... i mean when you watch house of the dead (god i wish i never did) when they are killing the zombies in the tunnels he edited in clips of actual video game footage... i was like uhm we get it... we know what this movie is based on... you don't have to actually show parts of the video game in the movie... he sucks
my god, if this guy ever makes a movie half decent the universe will implode...
uhh, 9/11 aside, the thing is tastless... there is nothing there, and there will never be... at least with other movies he pretended that he wanted to do good films, everybody knew the german loophole thing, but still he at least pretended...
