Zombie Mob Title Posession Is In Development Limbo
GamesIndustry.biz reports that Blitz games is putting their zombie mob game Possession on hold to work on another project for the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3. In Possession players controlled the Enslaver who had the power to infect humans, turn them into zombies and control them. Eventually you would control a legion of the undead. The pre-release buzz was pretty favorable. IGN stated in their preview of the game:
Possession has the potential to be an incredible game packed with both familiar B-movie zombie stunts and the unfamiliar experience of commanding hundreds of zombies at the touch of a button. Dixon and his team have envisioned a sophisticated and highly amusing game that's deep with an evolving storyline, continuously emerging gameplay strategies and tactics, and an impressive technology enabling hundreds of character to stalk the street at your command.
The team what was working on Possession is switching gears to work on the undisclosed new title. A spokesperson from Blitz assures that the work on Possession led them to work on the new high profile game.
"Much of the work done on Possession directly led to us signing this new game and some of the technology has been enhanced further and will appear in this new title."
The new project will be associated with Blitz’s Mature themed label, Volatile who released the rather lackluster Reservoir Dogs game. They plan on expanding their team to meet the demands of high-profile game development.
Whatever this game may be, I hope for their sake that it’s better than Reservoir Dogs. Damn crack a window, something’s stinking up the joint. PU. I’m just crossing my fingers that they will get back to work on Possession so I can finally fulfill my dream of commanding my own legion of the undead. A girl can still dream, can’t he?

Um, is it just me, or is the image for this story too disturbingly violent to be visible to every user? You should have a warning sign on the image, or somesuch. Really really gross guys. :(
