ActRaiser Coming To Virtual Console?
ActRaiser on the SNES, back in 1991, was a revelation. It combined all of my favorite gaming elements at the time: platform adventuring, simulation town building, wartime strategy, impressive graphics, and kick-ass monsters. Even the characters held both sides of my childhood interest, with a cute cherubic angel helping you during the town development stages, and a tough sword-wielding knight during battle portions. I loved what seemed like mature themes of religion and belief at the time, as well as ideas of purification and morality.
So fond are my memories of this experience that I often wish I could find the cartridge again and play it through once more, achieving near perfection in each of my different towns. It seems like this dream will soon be a reality, as ActRaiser (always a strange title) is finally coming to the US Wii's Virtual Console, having already been brought to Japan and Europe. One of the very few games Square-Enix has allowed to be brought to the VC, it was recently given a rating by the ESRB, which means now, that it's only a matter of time. Thank GOD.

I too loved this game and when I found a copy at my local flea market I was stoked!
That is until I found that the battery to save games was DEAD!!
My solution...
I had to solve it in one sitting!
Which I did!!
It was still fun!!
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
I loved this game! I didn't much like the side scrolling action parts but the land development & city building was great.
When i was young, i forced myself to play the main town music theme on the flute, piano and guitar... *sigh* good old days...
