Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers Trailer

Although the Crystal Chronicles subsect of Final Fantasy games has always been a little hit or miss (albeit always nice on the eyes), this is definitely something to look forward to. I hadn't really heard anything about it until now, but it appears that Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers besides being the longest title ever, is going to be quite interesting. Being developed for the Wii and appearing to be "flight" oriented (like so many other FF titles), the game has only shown one character at this time, and the quick segment of fighting seems to point towards action RPG style gameplay. The main character is a stand out, looking very different from the androgynous pretty boys Square-Enix usually employs. Although your guess is as good as mine, it will be interesting to see further details of the game as they are released. One thing's for sure: it sure is purty.

Wow that's odd. I've seen Square employ this type of character design before, actually. It was for the lead villain in the Rize of the Zillart campaign for Final Fantasy XI...

That would be too cool if they could tie this story into that one somehow, such as having the game take place in Vana'diel where you play as Elde'Narch (the blonde haired boy who can fly) in a sort of Annakin Skywalker-to-Darth Vader type story.

It's probably not the same character though the resemblance is uncanny, what with his obsession with crystals and using some type of darkish purple energy.

Stop trying to slaughter the game more than it already has been!

Ahem,

.....where is the multiplayer trailer?

Wow, I'm really impressed. The "Crystal Chronicles" have never been my cup of tea, but I like the new direction it appears to be taking. Also, you're right: it looks gorgeous.

The trailer looks great, and it's nice to finally see SOMETHING from this game. But, is it going to be multiplayer? Is it going to have any exploration? And can you create your own character? To me Crystal Chronicles was more about getting to choose your character than giving you a main character that all ready has a big story surrounding them...because if that's the case it's more like a regular Final Fantasy game.

Sigh....oh well, just give me Final Fantasy for Wii and I'll shut up.

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
