Fracture Destroys Its Way onto 360, PS3 in 2008

This week, LucasArts announced Fracture, a third-person shooter developed by Day 1 Studios which has the player use grenades in order to shift (i.e. destroy) their environment to navigate through the game and strategically battle enemies. As for the story: "This epic war fought on American soil pits cybernetically enhanced soldiers against warriors augmented by the benefits of advanced genetic engineering."

Like we haven't seen futuristic third-person shooters that feature physically-enhanced soldiers before. But story be damned: The trailer makes the core gameplay look pretty darn cool and shows you how the changeable terrain and futuristic weapons are put to good use during warfare. Not to mention the gun that simply shoots out Raiders of the Lost Ark-worthy boulders to annihilate anything that gets in your way... awesome.

Yeah, I'll be looking forward to playing that.
