Gears of Golf

In an interview in the newest Edge magazine, Epic Games bigwig Mark Rein revealed that the folks at the studio recently spent a day making Gears of War into a golf game:
"We were talking to a Korean publisher about using [Unreal Engine 3] to make casual games. We got an animator to make a golf swing for Marcus Fenix, and then a programmer took one of the Gears levels and added some mounds and stuff to make a course."
Why? Epic wanted to prove that the Unreal Engine could do more than make poweful first-person shooters; they can also make silly golf games featuring beefy ball-hitters (hee hee). Unfortunately, this project was for internal use only and will never see the light of day. We can only imagine what Marcus Fenix would do when he gets a double bogey…
