Microsoft Beefs Up Marketplace Security

Microsoft is erecting a brick wall for gamers from other territories outside of the states who have attempted to access the Xbox Live Video Marketplace. Some international users have created fake accounts to get around the restrictions. Now it’s time for the crackdown. Microsoft is going to monitor global locations of IPs, so they can see where the account was created and block fake accounts from US specific content.
As a general policy we try to get global rights to content, but in some cases, it's not possible because of legal restrictions. In other instances, we have to get legal rights on a country-by-country basis, which unfortunately results with us having content on the service that has to be filtered based on geographical location.
Many users will not even notice a change when the new dashboard update is released next week with the updated security measures. This change only affects faked accounts from international Marketplace users. Microsoft is looking to expand their Video Marketplace to other regions, but they have to comply with the legal restrictions of each country. How do you feel about Microsoft keeping tabs of your IP address?
