Mobile Suit Gundam... The Musical?
O.K., not really. But, still, I wouldn't be that surprised if someone did compose a broadway musical set to the space opera that is Mobile Suit Gundam. Hell, there were plays based on R.L. Stine's Goosebumps books, so Gundam would be a distinct improvement.
Anyway, these three costume-clad balladiers are actually a trio of Japanese comedians: Motohiro Takewaka, Satoshi Inoue, and Kendo Kobayashi. Apparently they're famous. I've never heard of them, but that's probably due to the fact that I only know about six phrases in Japanese and I learned them from watching Kurasawa movies. Still, even if you don't get the language, the singing is funny because of the ways the guys move... not to mention the fact that their costumes would probably win a prize or two a cosplay convention.

Apparently there's a LotR musical. It opened up to mixed reviews in Toronto, got streamlined, then opened up in London. It's been shut down for a few weeks to modify the theatre because a cast member's leg got caught in trap door machinary.
