On Life, The Podcast And Everything

by Madelina Jordache 2006

Hello Gentle Readers,

I usually refrain from discussing my personal life on the site, but because it seems to be effecting the way things run around here, I thought I owed you all a little bit of explanation.

First of all, I know a lot of you have been wondering what happened to the podcast. Well, rest assured we haven't forgotten about it. Time and technical issues have conspired against us making it very difficult to produce lately. Most of this stems from me and the fact that I am currently working three jobs. A graphic design job during the week, Kotaku on the weekends and GayGamer in every other available second. I'm sure you can see how this might make things difficult for scheduling. Podcasts take a surprisingly long time to put together and finding the available time has been difficult. I am also currently on a major design project at my job that has taken me away from writing on the site as well as going through a rather disheartening break up with my (now ex) boyfriend.

But not all is doom and gloom in GayGamer Castle. I'm happy to say that I will be leaving my current day job in an effort to focus all my attention on GayGamer and making it the best site it can be for you, our readers, and our staff of very hard workers. By the time our first anniversary hits at the beginning of July, I will be free from the shackles of a 9 to 5 job and spending all my time bringing you the saucy, sassy news reporting you've come to expect from us here at GG.

We really appreciate your continuing support through this bit of a rough patch and know that soon we will be back in full force. Until then however, please bear with us if the podcast skips a few weeks or we go a few days without our usual full content. Thank you all for making GG what it is today and I look forward to leading it into a very bright future.

Much love,

Fruit Brute

Remember, as the movie Out Cold tells us, one week of mourning for every 6 months. Just follow that advice and you'll be fine soon.

We GayGamers love you!

Thanks for all that you do, Fruit. I've recently purchased an iPod, and those podcasts have never left it!

As far as the breakup, they can hit us in so many vulnerable places and make the pits of our stomachs and hears feel permanently empty, but they do heal, and I hope your healing comes quickly. We're here for you! Take advantage of us!

O_o

Did I just say that? ;)

The podcast is just gravy at this point. Simply creating this site and maintaining it as an oasis for us in the scary jungle of the interwebs is achievement enough.

I always say everything happens for a reason. You may not see it now; but in time it will all be clear for you. I can only hope you have wonderful supportive friends and a loving family to fall back onto. Relationships are tough but worth it. You'll find that right someone soon...Lord, I sound like Dr. Phil.

Here's an Odin Sphere hug for you :-)
