PS3 Firmware 2.0 Details Leaked?
Thanks to a web snafu, Sony accidentally posted some details on PS3 firmware version 2.0 - the information was quickly removed (either it wasn't supposed to get posted or it was erroneous, so take your requisite grain of salt, y'all) but not before it got smeared across the official forums. Among the 34 listed new features are some biggies, most notably XMB access during gameplay!
Other additions in no particularly logical order are an "Energy Saver" option; an RSS channel; a music equalizer; the addition of settings for photos, PS and PS2 games, RSS channels and themes; a wallpaper feature; three-speed fast-forward and reverse during music and video playback; multiple chat sessions and customizable avatars; and increased support for just about everything.

- [Photo Settings] has been added as an option.

- Wallpaper feature has been added.

- Additional visualization effects have been added.
- CD information can now be entered.
- Three-speed fast forward and fast reverse has been added as a feature.
Video
- Files can now be played sequentially.
- Three-speed fast forward and fast reverse has been added as a feature.
- You can now select [Zoom] under [Screen Mode] when playing video files saved on the hard disk or storage media.*.
*An appropriate USB adapter (not included) is required to use storage media with some models.
Game
- Support for PlayStation 3 format software titles has been expanded.
- XMB™ (XrossMediaBar) is now accessible during gameplay.
Network
- [RSS Channel] has been added as a feature.
Friends
- You can now have multiple chat sessions.
- You can now select an image to use as your Avatar from [Photo].

- Date and Time is now shown when the PS button is pressed.
- File sorting has been changed.

is this the same "leak" that originated on the PlayStation.com message boards when one of the mods' accounts was hacked and someone posted up a fake "2.0"-list, and all the news sites hopped on it?
I do not know. NextGenGamer claims the info popped up briefly on the official PlayStation.com site and was reposted on the official PlayStation.com forums, so that could well be the case. Is there anything that looks particularly suspicious?
