Sony Promises Station Launcher To Outperform Xfire

At Sony’s recent Gamer’s Day 2007 press conference, they announced their new social networking and content streaming service, the Station Launcher. Sony promised that it would function like “Xfire on steroids.” Xfire supports buddy lists across a multitude of online games, while the Station Launcher will only work with Sony games.
The Launcher will eventually support additional content like downloads of various media and patches or updates to different games. Various media from Sony’s music and film studios should become available for download through the service. At this time the Launcher is for Sony online PC games, but I imagine that the service will be available for the PS3 in the future. They wouldn’t go through all the trouble to set up this service for their PC games only and leave their flagship console out in the dust. This just supports the synergistic nature of Sony’s business strategy, which I interpret as ‘keep it in the family.’ Sony tends to use proprietary media and hardware to keep their competition out of the loop while forcing their fans to adopt their product.

"on steroids" hahaha.. my god, will they ever stop making idiotic coments to make their products sound cool?
Another website is reporting that this will also be available for PSP. I'm glad that sony is doing something like this. We all complain that sony does nothing, and when sony does something we all complain that they're trying to mess up with our fun. Do not judge the company or the service until you actually use the service in question, thanks.
wasn't complaining about the product, i was comenting on their aproach to people
