Uwe Boll: Unloved
Poor Uwe Boll. It seems that not only has he been pissing off people right and left with the upcoming theatrical release of Postal, but he's (finally) starting to have problems getting people to fund his movies. It seems that the illustrious Dr. Boll tried to auction off a roll in his upcoming rendition of Far Cry, essentially trying to get someone from Germany to pay for the... uh... privilege of being an extra (the English equivalent of the auction's descriptor of a statist/Komparsen role) in the film. Aside from paying $3,360 to have a throwaway roll in the movie, the winner would also have to pay for their own transportation and hotel accommodations. But, hey, food was going to be provided on the set, so that totally made up for everything else. Oh, and apparently the winner would get spend "up to" five days with Boll and his Jovian-class ego.
But, alas, there were no bidders. Apparently even Germans know that Boll's movies are giant crapfests unworthy of the celluloid they're printed on. Seeing as how the Germanic tax loophole that helped fund Boll's movies is no longer in effect, one has to wonder if the man is just insane with these little publicity stunts or if he's genuinely starting to have financial problems...
