Bioshock Little Sister Podcast

bioshocklittlesis.jpg

As much as the iconic image of the Big Daddies have become one of the most prominent figures of Bioshock, their symbiotic Little Sisters shows a rather tender side to the hulking beasts. They are constantly protecting the small creatures, but who are the Little Sisters really? They appear to be little girls, but they scavenge fallen bodies for “Adam” with a large syringe. Then they ingest this precious substance and gag on it, eventually crawling back into the tunnels of Rapture.

Little else has been divulged until Ken Levine, the Creative Director of Irrational Games, sat down with the folks at Cult of Rapture for an in-depth expose on these fascinating creatures.

Apparently the Little Sisters began as a kind of sea slug. Then over months of development, they evolved into a small child. Levine explains why they chose a little girl to represent the character and how her gender affects the players' emotion response to her. So check out the podcast to understand the role they play and the evolution of one of the most fascinating figures in Bioshock.
