Blast From The Past: Zit Fighters From Outer Space

Ah, to be an awkward teenager in the 90s again. Seriously, we had to have had some of the weirdest ads thrown at us in the backs of our comics. While not particularly gaming-oriented, this Stridex ad from the back of Deadpool : The Circle Chase #3 seems like something straight out of my old Super Nintendo system. Think about it: bright colors, absurd science fiction, a generic team of space heroes who look almost identical except for their heads and weaponry, and a menace that seems straight out of Earthworm Jim. Personally, I think we have a spiritual successor to Darkened Skye on our hands... though the guns will probably need to be changed so they don't resemble tubes of K-Y Jelly.

I remember those ads. Oi, if anything, they made me steer clear of the product.

If you think those are weird, you should look at some of the shit in the 70s and 80s comic ads.
Anyone remember the "Hostess fruit Pie" ads that had super-heroes foiling super-villains with fruit pies and Twinkies?
Yeah...THOSE were screwed up ads, and possibly the coolest things ever.

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
