Blogging Every Zelda Game

blogzelda.jpg One adventurous blogger known as Grownup Gamer, has taken on the daunting task of blogging his way through every Zelda game chronologically. Starting with The Legend of Zelda, he documents his adventure through the land of Hyrule and beyond. His writing is quite engaging, as if he had the legendary sword and shield in his hands instead of a controller and a keyboard. Currently, he is playing through the oft-overlooked Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. He seems to be plowing through the adventure since he is only two posts into the game and already found the raft and the upwards stabbing move. I have fond memories of playing Zelda II on my friend’s console television, sitting cross-legged for hours drinking Coke and eating junk food till we finally bested the notoriously difficult Shadow Link and Gannon. If you want to relive the adventure, download Zelda II on the Virtual Console, or hop over to Grownup Gamer and dust off those fuzzy childhood memories that are nearly 20 years old. Oh no, am I really getting that old? I think it’s about time to buy stock in Oil of Olay and tie some bungee chords between my ears to fend off those approaching crow’s feet. ZELDA 2: i was so totally nostalgic about this game AND THEN I DOWNLOADED IT. it's more annoying than i rememebr and definitely NOT as likeable as Zelda I or Link to the Past. It takes some getting used to before you can get "in the zone" with it. P.S. toots, let's make butt babies

How the heck were you fighting GANON in Zelda II?? He was dead in that game. The only way for him to be brought to life was for Link to be killed and his blood poured onto Ganon's body, which is why you only see his shadow when you get a game over.

The final bosses in the game were Thunderbird and then Shadow Link, both of which were created by an evil wizard.

yummy, oil of olé!

Also: Oh noes! the composite has the characters in the wrong order, assuming it is supposed to be chronological. The awesome Zelda 3 was out 2 years before the - IMHO - rather mediocre Part 4 on the game boy of course.

And also: Really, the only way you could have fought ganon in zelda 2 would be if you somehow invented a time travel machine in the dark cave while searching for that frigging candle you had to pick up with your sword (!), traveled ahead in time to Ocarina of Time, got the man ganon out of his lair with the hookshot and had him have intercourse with one of those giant pig guards. Then you would travel back to Zelda 4 to combine the ocarina with the big fish to make it powerful enough to draw *all the links" into one timeline to get at their master swords. The resulting "master master" sword would be able to cut a hole into the fabric of time itself, through which you would throw ganon *back* into zelda 2. After modifying the rom on the board to reflect this change (you are placing him as the last boss, so you would have to play it through at least once) and using a memory ray (to forget you had already played w/o ganon as the last boss) you're good to go.

On the other hand, it could just have been a rather unimportant error on your part. Just making sure.

Jeez guys, so-rry. Maybe my memory was a little too hazy with this title. Whatever, at least I finished it when I was 10 years old. I know many a gamer who hasn't even done that. Most complaing that it's 'Too long and hard'. Well, that never stopped me.
