City Of Heroes Film In The Works

So when you decide to make a movie out of a superhero MMORPG, what category does it fall under? I mean, sure, it's technically a game-to-film flick, but when it's as closely tied to the comic book industry as City of Heroes is does it also overlap the comics-to-film genre? The reason I ask is because Tom Desanto, whose recent credits include producing and executive-producing Transformers and X2: X-Men United, has picked up the film rights to Cryptic Studio's critically-hailed MMO.
From the sound of things, the plot will revolve around the Rikti invasion that occurred before the game's plot officially began, but no other details are really available at this time. Hopefully, though, Desanto won't let a certain German director anywhere near this franchise, and he seems savvy enough not to let the travesty that was Silent Hill happen, either.

What do you mean "travesty that was Silent Hill"? That movie was incredibly well done, and perfectly captured the games. Easily the best game-to-movie adaptation ever.
Silent Hill was a very pretty movie, but it lacked substance. A lot. I'm not the only one who thought so, either.
SH movie was awesome
If you say so, I loved every minute of it. It was pretty much everything a Silent Hill movie should have been. The only way I could have been happier is if they'd simply filmed the script for Silent Hill 2 as a movie.
