De Blob Rolling Onto The Wii!

One of my favorite entries of the Independent Games Festival held this past year, De Blob is heading to the Wii. The game began as a student work and now German magazine Maniac! is reporting that the game is being translated to a home console near you.
While the initial response to the game may be to write it off as a Katamari clone, the mechanics of the game are quite different. You play a big squishy blob that must paint the whole town of Ultrecht in the Netherlands by rolling over color carrying individuals and slamming into every conceivable object. The colored guys come in red, yellow, and blue. Things get interesting when you have to color something purple. You then have to combine 1 red guy and 1 blue guy to turn de blob purple. Along the way you can collect coins in very difficult to retrieve locations. The game is presented sandbox style, so there are no real missions, just paint everything.
For those of you interesting in checking out this game before the Wii release, download the demo in English or Dutch.

little correction, it's the town of Utrecht, not Ultrecht....
