Disgaea DS: Look Forward To It!

disgaea.jpg

Cool your heels, my Atlus-loving, impossibly-long-playing, grid-based-strategy-fighting, quirky-dark-humor-appreciating pals: if waiting for Disgaea PSP wasn't enough for you, now there's mention of the possibility of Disgaea DS! RPGamer spoke directly with Nao Zook of NIS America (whose company has a "knack" for localizing other companies' games, a-la Atelier Iris), and while Nao played coy with the possibility of seeing Disgaea 2 on the PSP, he was less diplomatic concerning the original Disgaea's eventual appearance on everybody's favorite stylus-tapping handheld:

(Reader Question) Any chance of Disgaea on the Nintendo DS?
Nao: Let me just say this... you can look forward to it!

Ok, first of all: yaaaaaay! Second of all: about freaking time. The only drawback to my dearly beloved Disgaea series is that you really need about two years alone on a desert island to fully enjoy the game and rape it of its uber-leveling promise. In other words, it's the perfect recipe for a play-as-you-go, one-battle-a-subway-ride handheld experience. Which is why the guys at my local GameStop are sick unto death of my whining for a hard release date.

Add a stylus to the mix? Fuhgeddaboutit. I'm so sold.

That sounds like good fun to play on the bus ride to school in the fall. I demand a September 2007 release!

wha...wha....WHAT!? YES! I already own it for the PS2 and sooo getting it for the DS (which is better so that I don't see on a ass massively).

I also noticed there a question about porting other PSP games, such as "Suikoden 1+2" - but if they're going to do that, I'd rather see a game we *haven't* already seen stateside (like "Sakura Taisen 1+2" instead - mmm, cute girls and steam robots).

Tiny, this is the stuff that you hope to find out on Monday morning to make it feel worthwhile to get up. You have done very well.

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
