Indie Max Payne Film Looks... Good, Actually
It's been a while since the Max Payne franchise entered my awareness, but I can't say that that's necessarily a bad thing; I'm pretty sure that's because Rockstar Games doesn't like to have crap like stupid toys or lame-ass movies associated with their franchises. Of course, corporate quality control doesn't really factor into independent fan-films outside of either allowing to go ahead or shutting them down, but it seems like Rockstar is willing to let the above film series continue production. Honestly, the trailer for Max Payne: Payne & Redemption looks like it's pretty stylish and is staying close to its source material (including those convenient little bottles of drugs that you find throughout the games). No word yet on the bullet-time effects, but hopefully they'll find a nice workaround if it winds up being outside of their budget.
Independent film, Max Payne: Payne and Redemption, makes Uwe Boll blush [Destructoid]

Love the Max Payne franchise and eagerly await a third.
I hope that people know that Max Payne was made/developed by Remedy and not Rockstar.
"it seems like Rockstar is willing to let the above film series continue production"
why wouldn't they? do they own Max Payne now?
Just wanted to say that Rockstar hasn't made every good game with excessive violence. :)

Well, peter, the publisher would probably have something to say about it...
