Microsoft's E3 Plans Leaked, Debunked
Faster than you can say "Gears of War 2," Microsoft's E3 plans have been revealed and then quickly debunked. Xboxic reported the rumor and also updated it by saying that "insiders within Microsoft told us that most of it’s complete bulls**t." Whether the rumors are true or not, of course Microsoft will deny it to create an element of surprise come E3. Here's what we heard, allegedly leaked from an unnamed E3 floor manager:
- Microsoft start first at 6.30pm GMT+0:00.
- New Crimson Skies game to be announced.
- Bungie working on new title/series not related to anything in the Halo/Marathon Universe.
- Epic Games to show some form of Gears of War 2 Trailer.
- Microsoft have bought the Star Wars Battlefront 3 rights. Trailer/Demo to be shown.
- Rare to show off Banjo Kazooie 3 (Banjo-Threeie).
- Rare to announce 2 new games.
- Rare to announce Kameo 2.
- Lionhead Studios show more of Fable 2.
- Microsoft to fund a new game based on Jason Bourne. It’ll be based on the books and not the film with Matt Damon.
- Team Ninja to show off Ninja Gaiden 2. Labeled 360 Exclusive.
- Apparently there’s news of a MGS Game for the 360. May not be the 4th Installment.
- Dead Rising 2 to be shown. May not be ready.
While all of this sounds plausible, one thing we know for sure is that we won't know until we get there.

oh well as long as there's fable 2 footage I'll be happy :
My MS E3 predictions:
- Rare shows off new Banjo and original game. While good games, neither of which will be loved by 360 owners and suffer a painful retail death. Just like Viva Pinata.
- Bungie shows off in game trailers of Halo 3. That is all.
- Capcom shows off sequel to Dead Rising. Save System revamped, making the game actually playable!
- Lionhead's HBIC brags about Fable 2 a little too much again while still high on the Nintendogs aspect of the game.
- No word of MGS4, even though we all know the delay into 2008 means that Kojima is porting it over to the 360, sans waggle.
- Team Ninja's HBIC says something arrogant while relying on games he's made three times or haven't changed since their original incarnation in '96.
- Gears 2 teaser shows nothing a logo, but reminds me how much I hate Cole.
- Realtime Worlds announces a new game to follow up Crackdown, but it's still too early to show off or play.
- New Crimson Skies game? We all want it, but we prolly won't get it.
- No mention of a price drop at all unless Sony cuts first.
General E3 Preductions:
- Anything without a MS Game Studios or SCEA/SCEE/SCEJ logo is multiplatform. This includes more titles than you can imagine right now.
- 40 million people can't be wrong. The majority of next-gen heavy hitters get DS remakes/ports. Get ready for some strangely "not ds" games from pubs like Ubisoft, THQ, EA, and others.
- Nintendo delays one out of the big three. My guess is Galaxy and I cry. Project Hammer is confirmed to be canceled, replaced with casual game and I cry. Miyamoto shows off new game and I cry (for a good reason this time).
- Sony continues it's strong line up of mildly interesting, but not "$600 good" games. Too soon for Motorsport 2? Ratchet and Clank playable, winner of the show for the platform, but plays largely like PS2 titles. God of War 3 announced/hinted, leaving most people to wish it was announced for PS2, since the game will remain exactly the same like GoW1/2.
- Having seen NPD numbers nice Nov, publishers announce games based on Wii's success, the 360 same-ness of big sellers, and the PS3's sameness of of 360 games. Get ready for more licensed tie-ins, more Tom Clancy FPS's, and more...uh...Saint's Row/GRAW wannabes.
- PSP 2/Slim shown off. Too little. Too late. Publishers consider the machine dead, even though system sales have looked much better since the price cut. The system's best developers shift focus to other platforms (includes Ready At Dawn and Q?)...namely the DS.
who does evryone think that mgs4 is going over to 360. for all your information it hasnt been confirmed. Its way too early for them to show a trailer about gears of war 2. it says that microsoft starts at 8:30. This article was originally from a forum. no one should listen to forums cause most of the time ppl lie. Once i went on a ps3 forum and they said mass effect was going to the ps3 which is a lie.
Kojima's statements don't rule out MGS4 on 360 in the same way he didn't rule out MGS2 on Xbox. To make matters more interesting, people on the company's podcast are making a lot of "If we made it on 360..." type of statements. All of this combined with the recent semi-confirmed rumor that MGS4 is getting pushed back to 2008 (which makes sense...Halo 3 and GTA4 would kill MGS4's sales) leads a lot of people to believe that it's been pushed back to release a ps3/360 version close to each other.
We all know that Epic has been making Gears 2 since Gears 1 production wrapped. I don't expect anything more than a shot or two, but it's a good chance it'll be announce or talked about.
