Official US Square-Enix Store Opening Soon
Have you ever seen the stuff that Square-Enix gives to it's Japanese fan base? It boggles the mind, really. There are Final Fantasy action figures, sports drinks, art books, soundtracks, lighters, DSs. Kingdom Hearts PS2s, necklaces, shoes, statues. I've never seen proof, but I bet there are even a pair of Dragon Quest underwear out there somewhere, little Slimey's happy face all over someone's obsessive backside. Knowing myself, and my nasty predilection for buying things I really can't afford, it's always been a bit of a blessing that the States doesn't get access to many of these things (although I did have a friend in Japan procure for me a couple of those Suntory FFXII "Potion" energy drinks--gross).
All that's about to change. The US Square-Enix website now sports a "coming soon" page for an online store that will feature North America ONLY based merchandise. Although none of the actual merchandise for sale is up yet, there are images of FFXII and Kingdom Hearts II toys. You can even sign up for a notification of the Grand Opening via email here. There is hope yet for rabid Squeenix fans.
This does not bode well for my bank account.

:3 Toys? Neato expensive jewelry?
Now all we need is a life size statue of Sephiroth in the nude to get us up to speed with Japan!
(The site says "Please take your time!" concerning the sculpture)
And once again Europe gets screwed.
*sigh*
