Perplex City To Be Razed

Perplex City, one of the most intuitive and original Alternative Reality Games out there, is sadly not going to return to entertain us with its puzzles and mysteries. While that seems like a shame, I have no doubt that Adrian Hon (the play director, pictured here from when I interviewed him at E3 2005) and his team at Mind Candy will no doubt return to boggle our intellects with something new and exciting. Hon posted a note about the game's cancellation here:
I’m sure you’ve heard the bad news. Perplex City Season 2 will not be launching in June, or in the near future. At the time, I was being honest when I promised that it would launch next month, but there are some circumstances that are out of control of even a puppetmaster. I know that this will hugely disappoint a lot of people, and it’s a real disappointment for me. We all worked very hard on making Season 2, but it just was not to be. And so, it’s time for me to move on.
Hon's words leave his status with the company up in the air, though it implies that he will be moving on to bigger and better things. Hopefully he won't be gone from the world of ARGs for very long, and his creativity and wit were a superb contribution to the genre.
