Reggie Cruises Manhunt, Not Into Kink

Reginald Fils-Aime, final boss of Nintendo of America's special executive level, has spoken out about Manhunt 2 for the first time. While we're having some difficulty getting over the game-Manhunt/gay-Manhunt puns (or at least I am...it's too tempting), the rest of the gaming world is still shuffling their feet, torn between the basic human aversion to things horribly horrific and the overwhelming desire to play a game filled with such horrible horror.
Not so Reggie, it seems. Speaking to Newsweek's N'Gai Croal, Reggie called Manhunt 2 "a game rated outside our spectrum, outside any manufacturer's spectrum" and laid out the obvious with a little Nintendo spin:
"This is not an image issue. Wii welcomes games rated E, T and M. We haven't approved AO-rated games. I doubt we ever will."
Some have speculated that even with a thorough enough content revision censorship to win a "Mature" rating for the PSP and PS2 versions of the game, the Wii version might not make the downgraded threat level due to the "gestural nature" of the Wiimote.
To this, Fils-Aime played it cool:
"That's an issue for the ESRB and Rockstar to work through. And as I understand the ESRB guidelines, the Wii controls should not be an issue."
Oh Reggie, even when you're not really telling me anything, I want to rest my head on your strong, solid shoulder...

jeez just marry him already, Tiny! :-p
"Wii welcomes games rated E, T and M."
See? They won't allow C-rated games either! And they say Nintendo is kiddie.

Sad really, I just bought Scarface: The World is Yours, and thats pretty damn violent, I mean, you can shoot people in the damn crotch for crying out loud, and yet, they won't let Manhunt on the console, sad really.
Well, if the AO-rated version ever shows up on the PC, you'll be able to find out just how much more gruesome than Scarface it was. But I'd bet an M-rated version will be out in time for xmas.
