Saturday Morning Cartoons: Sonic Underground
I'm a big fan of the unexpectedly awesome Sonic the Hedgehog animated series—the one with the dark future and the freedom fighters, not the half-hour torture with the slapstick and 70's-quality animation mind you. Sonic Underground totally dodged my radar, though! Although Sonic's tacked-on sister (Sonia) and brother (Manic) understandably don't get much love out of this series (that is to say, any), there's still some cool animation in the show, an insidiously catchy theme song, and a legitimately menacing version of Dr. Robotnik. So check it out, here's episode one of Sonic Underground, the aptly titled "Beginnings!"
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3

I have never heard of sonic underground. I have watched the one where robotnik takes over the city and they are freedom fighters with some fox chick and rings cause him to go super sonic.
This borrows a LOT from the awesome saturday morning one. How did I miss this!? I wonder if the same people are involved.
I hope you know all three hedgehogs are voiced by Steve Urkel. Nasty.
I remember seeing the DVD for this on the shelves of a Best Buy. I'm pretty sure this is semi-recent, as in not from the 80's or 90's. And it either steals a lot from the original Sonic SatAM, or it's by the same studio or something.
Hmm... recall watching a few episodes when they aired on UPN's early morning kids shows lineup. Animation was decent, but it was way too light for a show about removing a despot, and their were too many fillers.
I'm sorry, but Sonic should NOT play the electric guitar.
