Sony Shows Some PR Honesty, Hell Not Frozen Over

Remember how Sony launched its own "real" blog? Well, guess what, despite expectations that the company would turn it into just another crappy piece of viral marketing, they seem to be facing up to the fact that the PS3 isn't always the best console out there on the market. No, really, it's true. When discussing the development process for games featuring a lot of online content, this is what they said:
3) If your game has heavy online use: XBL provides more and better standard libraries for online gaming to developers. For the same features on PS3, developers have to do some extra work. We’re catching up, but there is a difference.
Y'know, I really don't have anything to say. I have been stunned into speechlessness, and Sony has done it simply by being honest. It's surreal, mainly because I normally have a sarcastic crack on hand. Now, if they would just apologize for "All I Want For X-Mas Is A PSP", we'd be good. Oh, look, I'm back.

If Sony realized that a spoonful of honesty goes a lot farther than cup of braggadocio, they'd be a lot more successful. Nice to see them show an inkling of humility, for a change.
OK, so Home still looks kinda awkward and imitative, and so does LBP, and I'm not buying a PS3 anytime soon, but displaying self-deprecating candor online makes me think Sony might not be terminal yet.
Maybe getting rid of Kutaragi could do for them what having Yamauchi retire did for Nintendo. But there's a lot of humble pie between here and there.
