Wii Outsells PS3 5:1 in Japan

wiivsps3.jpg

The console gap widens between PS3 and Wii in Japan. Bloomburg cited Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu, which stated that the Wii outsold PS3 5 to 1 in May. This is a marked difference from April when the gap was 4 to 1. Last month Nintendo sold 251,794 Wiis while the PS3 sold 50,000 consoles. The poor Xbox 360 only sold 11,082 units. Which is not surprising because outside of the release of Blue Dragon, the 360 has never done very well over there.

There's no major franchise titles out for PS3, and it's all built on franchises over there. No one is buying it because there aren't many games for it. The second a major franchise hits, they'll be all over it like white on rice, and they may sell it back to the used stores 3 days later like with N64 and Zelda

I live in Japan and the wii fad is just that- its a fad and believe me, Japanese people get bored of fads quickly. The wii is seen not as a console at all, but a children's toy- like fisher price in the States. The wii and PS3 are not competing just as Skoda and Mercedes are not in competition with each other. The wii is for sheep, poor people, the under sevens, Michael Jackson and the elderly.

Yeah, it's a fad, like that "DS" thing they released over there a couple years ago that vanished after a couple months. Remember that old thing?

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
