60GB PS3 Being Pulled In US This August

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe just dropped the bomb on US gamers. Apparently the recent $100 price drop of the 60GB PSP in the States was made to clear out the back stock and make room for the 80GB PS3 right back at the $599 price tag. The transition will begin in August and the 80GB model will come bundled with MotorStorm.
This means that there really hasn’t been any price drop for US gamers. We just got the old wool briefly pulled over our collective eyes. For a split second Sony seemed to be heading in the right direction. Most people can agree that $599 is far too much to pay for a gaming console, no matter what it can do. Now Sony jumped from a mildly reasonable $499 to the outrageous $599. The 20GB difference in the systems and MotorStorm are not worth the $100 margin between the systems. For shame Sony, for shame.

... God damn I hate you, Sony.
For shame, Sony! For shame....
bait/switch ftl!
But cmon, we all knew this would happen, didn't we?
There we go, now that sounds like the Sony I know.
Haha.
European gamers don't even get that!
We won't get the 80gig version. We just get the 60gb version with Motorstorm and Resistence Fall of Man and a second controller.
They call that Starterpack and let us pay 600 bucks like we always paied... haha.
It's so bold, it's ridiculous.
hahahaah

You guys in the US are lucky. :p
Well, that clinches it...i've been putting off on going next-gen...and now i'm gonna get a 360...Sony has screwed themselves a little to much if you ask me.
