Bill Gates Invests In Gay.com, PlanetOut
Through a chain of legal and financial mojo, Bill Gates has invested some of his considerable spendin' cash in the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender online community PlanetOut, one of the internet's premier gay institutions - a top queer news site and portal, the (if memory serves) rather purgatorial Gay.com, and $68.6 million earner last year.
Billiam Q. Gates isn't exactly known as a trigger-happy online investor, so the sinking of some $26.2 million into the digital gay empire could be either a sign of PlanetOut's overall health or of Gates' burgeoning love of online gay enterprises.
Should the latter be true, we'll happily offer Bill and Melinda a very special tour of the GayGamer castle grounds, from Toots' aerie tower apartments (poor dear's been growing out his hair...thinks he's Rapunzel) to The Boy Blunder's rotating "Hospitality Salon" (poor dear...thinks he's Traci Lords). We'll show him Fruit Brute's tchotchke-encrusted throne room, Pirate Prince's hoard of anime, yaoi, manga and doubloons.
We'll do anything he wants, wink freaking wink, just cover me in capital, daddy!

I'm not so sure it would be a sign of PO's health. Didn't they go into bankruptcy proceedings in the recent past? Maybe they've restructured and are now in good financial health. I'm not really sure.
Great, I already have to run an old version of gaim (that supports the gaym plugin) to get on gay.com's hack of an IRC server.
Now they'll probably convert the whole thing to a big Word 2007 document on a Sharepoint server. Clippy will be ecstatic.
