E3 07: Dewy's Adventure Gameplay!
Straight from E3--Konami's Dewy's Adventure on the Wii. This is first close look at the gameplay, and I have to admit that I'm hooked. I love that Dewy slides around all blobby and happy, and you move the landscape so that he moves in the direction you want. I love that by increasing or decreasing the temperature, Dewy changes into a lightning-prone little cloud or a frozen little tank of destruction. Sound effects are cute as you'd imagine, and the little effects of the water bubbling in his life meter and the temperature gauge just feel my heart with Wii points of joy. Seeing Dewy destroy those evil oil/shadow blobs is more satisfying than I care to admit. Besides that other rotund hero's new space game, this will be a definite must-buy for my Wii.
Follow the jump for the slightly disturbing game intro. Although I really like the artwork (the same artist was used for Elebits), the voice acting is really terrible. I really hate it when I'm supposed to be listening to kids talking and I just think of middle aged ladies trying to sound adorably young. It's creepy. Almost as creepy as the conversation these two have. And can I just say, although it's very cute, let's put the "storybook adventure" thing to bed, shall we?

I want this game more than all the Halos in the world.
Ugh, someone should hire Konami some new cut scene animators and child actors. It was bad enough in Elebits already.
