EIEIO 07: Legendary: The Box

With our time at EIEIO drawing to a close and Tiny and my one collective brain filled to capacity, we were about to leave the Gamecock oasis and enter the bliss of our quiet hotel room when one of the gamecock guys stopped us. "Have you seen Legendary: The Box yet?" We replied we hadn't but that we really needed to get going. "It will just be 15 minutes," he implored, "and it will totally be worth it." Never to be ones to turn down an offer of a quickee from a hot straight guy we decided to stick around and check it out. And he was right, it was totally worth it.
I really wasn't sure what to expect as we were ushered into an appropriately beachy hotel room, but then I heard the word "FPS" and my heart sank a little. I didn't know if I could take one more war torn, outer space, army dude escapade, but I figured that so far all of the stuff we had seen at Gamecock had been unusual and different, so I held back my feelings and took a seat. Five minutes later, my jaw was in my lap.
In Legendary: The Box (Xbox 360) the unwitting player accidentally opens Pandora's Box which is on display at a museum. The box explodes and unleashes all the mythological monsters held within out on the modern world. We were treated to some amazing cinemas of hundreds of giant gryphons attacking a metropolitan city, eating people and picking up cars in their talons and carrying them away as people ran screaming in all directions. It was really quite beautiful and exciting. The other section we saw dealt with wall crawling werewolves which were equally as terrifying and fun to watch.
Much like Mushroom Men, the game is still in early development and the creators were not easily tricked into giving out secret details like what other monsters we might expect to see. I asked about gorgons and was given an answer that, while cagey, definitely led me to believe we would see these snake headed vixens somewhere in the game. Like all of the Gamecock games, this is definitely a title to keep your eyes on in the coming months.

uhh! Now that's a FPS that I would love getting into!!!11
Hm, yummy werewolves =d
