Multi-boxing Couple Has 47 PCs Set Up to Play WoW

Speaking of crazy situations surrounding the World of Warcraft, check this out. Gameslah at the Dual-boxing.com forums has posted photos of his WoW set-up. It includes 47 PCs, all set up with their own WoW accounts that he plays with his girlfriend. Why? They participate in "multi-boxing," which means they play multiple characters simultaneously. According to Wikipedia, "This can either be achieved by using multiple separate machines to run the game or by running multiple separate instances of the game. By itself, it isn't considered cheating because it is difficult to control multiple characters at the same time, but it is sometimes combined with bots that partially or fully control the characters." Gameslah and his girlfriend each control 23 characters, with one computer acting as the server (hence 47 of them). Wait'll the Chinese gold farmers hear about this...

One of the guys I worked with a few years ago would horseshoe 6 monitors and login to EverQuest with 6 different characters.
He had a pretty cool setup where one mouse and keyboard could alternate output to any character with the press of a button.
He had some trouble using all 6 characters together, so I can't imagine how 23 would be!
Ridiculous. The ret of the world is looking for ways to conserve energy and lessen our reliance on fossil fuels, and these morons are sucking up all the juice they can. What is the point of this? I'm all for gaming (clearly) and I like online games, but in this case they really need to get a life.
