Rumor: New WoW Expansion To Be Shown At Leipzig?

Prince Arthas: Lich King Extraordinaire

Not too long ago, Blizzard released the first expansion pack for its un-godly popular MMORPG titled, World or Warcraft. It was met with critical acclaim and many rejoiced at its arrival, including myself. Now, it would seem, a listing for World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King has materialized on USK. From GameSpot:

Spotted by German community site Gamona, a listing for World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King appeared on USK yesterday, accompanied by the tag "GC-demo," implying Blizzard will be showing Wrath of the Lich King at this year's Games Convention in Leipzig, Germany. Responding to a request for comment, a Blizzard representative stated, "We have not yet announced any details with regard to future expansions of World of Warcraft."

Another expansion so soon? Hey, it certainly seems possible. GameSpot says the listing is given "further credence" that the expansion will include the area of Northrend. Someone sent a tip to WOW Insider that "the Video Games Live orchestra, slated to perform the final concert at this year's BlizzCon, will play three pieces titled "Northrend 1," "Northrend 2," and "Northrend 3."" GameSpot's all-knowing Tom Magrino points out that "Warcraft aficionados will be quick to note that Northrend is where the Warcraft III hero Arthas Menethil made his stand against the dreadlord Mal'Ganis, only to be corrupted by the powerful yet chaotic Frostmourne sword due to the meddling of Kel'Thuzad."

Sounds epic!!! At present, my long time friend, Gestahl the Paladin, has been put into cold storage until such time he is needed again. A new expansion would easily bring me out of retirement coupled with new toons that some friends are raising at the moment. So, are you excited? Do you think a new expansion will be welcomed so soon? Tell me in the comments!

They announce it now, but in 2009 it'll be a reality.

The thing is, if the USK tested it for the show, then it is usually playable.
So, we shall see how much they have already...

Blizzard already stated they aim bring out a new expansion every 12 months for wow. They have a entirely separate development team for expansions. Fingers crossed this one is out in the fall but I doubt it :(

My paladin has also been taking a holiday since reaching lvl70, he sends me postcards though. The lucky guy found himself a sexy Nightelf rogue to waste endless hours with.

They'll clearly reveal it at Blizzcon in a few days time but hopefully at GC Leipzig they'll let other people play it with premade characters, instead of the lucky few at Blizzcon.

Especially since Blizzcon has some pretty strict press restrictions.

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
