New Xbox 360 Chipset Cuts Cost & Overheating Risks

Code-named "Falcon," Microsoft has developed a smaller chipset for its Xbox 360 console, which will cut manufacturing costs, power requirements and the not-so-well-hidden epidemic of 360 overheating.
With an IBM microprocessor and an ATI graphics chip both writ small in a 65-nanometer process (considerably smaller and more efficient than the original 90 nm process), the move paves the way for a potential price reduction and perhaps gives Microsoft some breathing room while to address the overwhelming failure rate. Taken in conjunction with last week's unprecedented billion-dollar repair cost apology and warranty-extension, it's obvious that Microsoft is taking the situation very seriously and doing everything they can reasonably do to improve the 360 experience.
So here I sit, with my fully-functioning launch-date-acquired dinosaur of a 360, which never makes too much noise, never red-ring-of-deaths me, and never even gets particularly warm, wondering what all the fuss is about. Having said that, of course, I look forward to an immediate and total meltdown of my system - because that's how karma works.
One of these days, karma...
